Do you have a student who is about to start their undergraduate experience at York? If so, please join us for the York University Parent & Family Orientation Program! The purpose of the program is to help you assist your student as they transition to York. You will have an opportunity to hear from key resources on campus and how we can best support your students academic success.

Parent & Family Information Session

Saturday, August 23, 2 – 4 pm. Location details will be sent with a confirmation email prior to event. Registration is now closed for this event.

Join us for either of these optional information sessions where you will receive information about the transition to university life, a snapshot of the first year experience, and tips to help your student prepare for their first day. Meet with key partners supporting your students academic success and have your questions answered.

Parent & Family Orientation Day

Monday, September 1, 10 am – 2 pm, Refreshments & Registration at 9:30 am. Location details will be sent with a confirmation email prior to event.

Please join us on move-in day for our Parent & Family Orientation Day to learn about the opportunities, services and resources York has for your student. The event will begin with a welcome from President Mamdouh Shoukri and includes a student services information fair, a student play put on by our own Vanier College Productions that showcases the first year experience, as well as an optional session about financial aid.

Afterward, parents and families of students affiliated with Bethune, Calumet, McLaughlin, New, Stong and Winters will be treated to lunch hosted by their respective College. Attendees will also receive information about academic services, social activities, recreational activities, and facilities related to their student’s College which will serve as their ‘home away from home’ while at York.

For parents and families of students affiliated with Founders and Vanier you are welcome to attend the morning Orientation events from 10am – 12pm, but your College specific Orientation events will be held on:

– September 3 at 5pm for Founders College
– September 9 at 6pm for Vanier College

Registration is now closed. Please note exact location and directions will be emailed to those who have RSVP’d a few days prior to the event.

Glendon Parents’ Orientation

Parents, guardians, and family are an important support for students during their university careers, so we offer this session to connect with them and answer their questions. Topics discussed include financial aid, campus security, orientation, food services, and student life. This session coincides with residence move-in day to allow as many parents as possible to participate. Planning on attending? Please RSVP in advance  with the number of attendees.

Parents, tuteurs, et famille sont la première source de soutien pour les étudiants pendant leur carrière universitaire, donc nous offrons cette session pour se mettre en contact avec eux et répondre à leurs questions. Les thèmes discutés incluent l’aide financière, la sécurité au campus, et la vieétudiante. Cette séance coincide avec le jour d’emménagement en résidence pour permettre à tous les parents d’y participer. Planifiez-vous d’y assister ?   RSVP en avance  avec le nombre departicipants.
